Upon presenting our client with a 2D rendering showcasing our vision for their backyard redesign, their excitement was palpable. Within a week, they enthusiastically approved the project, and we swiftly began implementation.
Project Overview
Located in the heart of the Georgetown neighborhood of Washington, DC, our client’s small row-house initially featured an overgrown lawn, dated patio, and minimal privacy.
Before pictures below:
Our goal was clear: transform this space into a harmonious blend of aesthetics, functionality, and ease of maintenance.
The Vision
Our client sought an aesthetically pleasing, low-maintenance outdoor retreat that would also offer ample space for relaxation, entertaining, and an additional parking spot.
The centerpiece of our design was a spacious flagstone patio in a full color palette, carefully balanced with softscaping elements for visual appeal. We created a planting bed for the green screen with Emerald Green Arborvitaes strategically placed for enhanced privacy and beauty. Furthermore, we extended the existing concrete parking area with a paver and gravel pad, providing a practical addition to urban living.
See the plan pictured below:
The Outcome
The home owner reports “We are pleased to report that the transformation has not only met but has significantly exceeded our initial expectations, staying true to our vision.” The once-dated backyard now boasts a stunning full-sized flagstone patio with a lush green screen and an added parking spot, seamlessly blending beauty with functionality.
